IN MEMORY OF LADDIE- AND IN SUPPORT OF THE GUIDE DOG FOUNDATION  For those that didn't know Laddie, this remarkable dog served as Jim Carney's eyes for 10 years. Jim received Laddie from the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind in Smithtown, NY back in 2013. He has served both Jim and the RIAPA faithfully for the past 10 years.
Without Laddie, the RIAPA would not be where we are today. Laddie sat (with Jim) through countless hours at the statehouse lobbying for PA legislation. He has navigated Jim to AAPA conferences in San Antonio, San Diego, Atlanta and once navigated Jim from an Amtrak station in Alexandria VA through a blizzard to an AAPA meeting at a hotel that Laddie had only been to once before. This amazing guide dog has been at Jim's side 24 / 7 / 365 for 10 years and has allowed Jim to go places he would never have been able to go. He will be missed by all of us at the RIAPA but most of all by Jim and his family. |
