Join us for a presentation by Michael Powe, VP of Reimbursement for the AAPA, who will present the 2022 CMS changes fpr PA services. This 1.5 hour long webinar will consist of 60 minutes of lecture followed by a 30 minute Q&A.

This program is designed for RIAPA members, PA students , physicians and practice mangers.

Topics to be discussed will include:

  • Update on Medicare documentation requirements for office-based services
  • Explanation of Medicare’s dramatic 2022 changes to split/shared visit billing
  •  Review of “incident to” billing rules
  • Explain the implications of Medicare direct payment for PAs
  •  Overview of value-based reimbursement
  • Tips for avoiding fraud and abuse allegations
  •  Measuring and calculating PA productivity

CME Accreditation

This activity has been reviewed by the AAPA Review Panel and is compliant with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 1.5 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

About The Speaker

 Michael Powe is the vice president of Reimbursement & Professional Advocacy for the American Academy of PAs. In that capacity he deals with healthcare policy issues, third party payment, the Medicare and Medicaid programs, health care reform, value-based payment initiatives and various state and federal regulatory agencies.

Mr. Powe also serves as AAPA’s staff liaison to the American Medical Association’s CPT Editorial Panel and the Relative Value Update Committee, which evaluates the Medicare payment process. He is the co-author of the book, The Essential Guide to PA Reimbursement, and an adjunct assistant professor at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, DC.
